American Legion Post 402 will host its annual Memorial Day observance beginning with a presentation at Bethel Church focused on the 250-year history of the United States and stories about the nation’s founders. Following the presentation, the Legion color guard will lead attendees to the cemetery for a reading of veterans buried there. The ceremony concludes at the beach with a wreath placement on the water, a firing squad salute, and a bugler performance. The event will also feature three high school students presenting historical writings, with medals awarded for their stories.
