Springtime on the Peninsula
Springtime has arrived on the Peninsula, and Door County is beginning to bloom in every direction.
Cherry blossoms are softening the landscape in shades of pink and white, orchard trees are waking up in fresh color, and every winding road feels made for unhurried drives, scenic views, and spontaneous stops. It’s the kind of season that doesn’t rush you. Instead, it invites you to slow down, breathe it in, and enjoy the beauty of the Peninsula as it quietly turns the page toward summer.
From blossom season to baseball, Memorial Day Weekend events, and the official start of summer sounds on The Lodge, May is full of reasons to get out and enjoy Door County.
Door County Baseball League Returns for Opening Day
The crack of the bat, hometown pride, and Sunday afternoons across the Peninsula can only mean one thing: the Door County Baseball League is back.
Another season of tradition, rivalry, and community spirit is underway as local teams return to the field. From Kolberg to Washington Island, Door County baseball continues its long-standing legacy of bringing communities together. Generations of families, loyal fans, and competitive local talent gather once again as teams square off in matchups that mean far more than the final score.
This season also marks the return of Lodge local Brady Olson with “Brady’s Baseball Banter.” Each Friday morning, Brady brings listeners his weekly breakdown of game highlights, player updates, standout performances, and what to watch as the season unfolds.
