Fyr Bal Weekend Brings Scandinavian Summer Spirit to Ephraim
Summer gets a proper Door County welcome in Ephraim with the return of the 61st Fyr Bal Festival on Saturday, June 20.
Pronounced “fear-ball,” Fyr Bal is Ephraim’s Scandinavian-inspired celebration of the season, marking the transition from spring into summer along the shoreline of Eagle Harbor. This family-friendly festival brings a full day of music, dancing, crafts, artisan vendors, food, shopping, and community fun before the evening ends with the traditional bonfire and fireworks over the harbor.
It is one of those classic Door County weekends where the village feels extra alive — boats in the water, visitors strolling through town, music in the air, and summer officially settling in.
On Monday, June 22, the celebration continues in North Ephraim with the first Evenings in Ephraim: Bondemarked of the season, plus a special sidewalk dedication and ribbon cutting.
fm 106.9 The Lodge will be part of the day with a little pop-up outside the studio, featuring station merchandise and summer-ready Lodge favorites. Stop by, walk the new path, browse the sidewalk sale-style setup, then make your way downtown for the evening market and music.
Fresh Finds for Father’s Day
There’s something special about a Door County farmers market morning. Fresh produce on the tables, local makers sharing what they love, and familiar faces filling the streets all make for a simple but memorable way to enjoy the season.
With Father’s Day coming up, it’s also a perfect way to spend a little time with Dad. Skip the usual gifts and take him out for a relaxed market stroll, a fresh treat, or a few local finds to bring home.
All season long, farmers markets across the county offer a chance to slow down, shop local, and bring home a true taste of Door County. From just-picked fruits and vegetables to homemade baked goods, flowers, crafts, and seasonal favorites, every stop has something worth discovering.
